Q. Is it difficult to implement the linearization
function in the UDM40?
No, it is quite easy. First, the output characteristic
of the transducer must be divided into a number of segments paying
attention to the maximum deviation from the curve. For example, in
figure 1, we can divide the curve into 9 segments (9+1=10 linearization
points) in relation to the vertical grid. The Lin menu must be activated
(YES) and the number of linearization points set (10 in this example).
Then the input/output coordinates of each point must be edited. For
example in.01=4, ou.01=1.0, in.02=4.5, ou.02=0.9, ..., in.09=12, ou.09=0.2,
in.10=20, ou.10=0.1. Note that the first and the last linearization
points must correspond to the ones defined in the SCAL menu (in.01=Lo.E,
ou.01=Lo.d, in.10=Hi.E, ou.10=Hi.d).
